Professional DevelopmentOmaha Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a Full Time or Part Time Rad Tech who is able to run a C-Arm in the procedure room. Responsible for providing and assisting with intra-operative radiologic/fluoroscopic procedures as directed by physicians and assisting nursing staff in the care and management of patients. On site training of C-Arm.
Pay: $26 - 31 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 5:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in radiologic/ fluoroscopic aspects of the delivery of patient care and completion of all activities according to established policy, procedure and protocol.
Communicates accurate and timely information to the Registered Nurse regarding patient in their care.
Records patient information clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Calibrates the equipment to ensure clear, usable images are taken of the correct area, as specified by the Doctor.
Positions patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for contrast in the diagnostic images.
Ensures the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment, maintaining radiographic equipment, and reporting any equipment failures.
Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media; and administering first aid and using the emergency cart.
Performs related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs.
Completes annual mandatory training by the assigned due date.
Monitors and documents lead apron integrity annually.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Education & Experience:
Associate degree in Radiography from an accredited school program required.
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
One year of previous health care management experience required.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of x-ray technology.
Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for recordkeeping purposes.
Physical Demands:
Required to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods.
Must be able to communicate with or without reasonable accommodations – speak and hear.
Able to use both hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to push up to 300lbs.W
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
