Professional DevelopmentThe Durham Museum is looking for engaging and enthusiastic candidates who can take all of the great programs we have planned for this summer and make them happen. You’ll work with a passionate team of Education Programs Facilitators and other museum staff to prep for and facilitate a variety of programming, with the added perk of hanging out at Omaha’s beautiful Union Station and National Historic Landmark. Plus, programs take place during the weekday, leaving your evenings and weekends free for summer fun!
The Education Programs Facilitator is responsible for executing high quality, engaging, and educational programming for museum learners of all ages. This position provides positive guest interaction and is responsible for facilitating a variety of educational programming. The Education Programs Facilitator works closely with staff and volunteers to ensure consistency in processes and presentation of the museum’s programs. This seasonal position works specifically with summer workshops and summer camps.
RESPONSONSILITIES:
Lead programming for and supervise groups of students on-site at the museum and off-site during camp field trips. These include but are not limited to summer camps, before and after-care for summer camps, and summer workshops.
Maintain and organize education spaces, props, and supply storage areas to ensure they are safe, clean and easily accessible to volunteers and staff.
Ensure all groups receive a consistent welcome, check-in, and orientation process upon arrival.
Support the museum’s overall strategies and operational activities within the Education Services division.
Participate in all mandatory training and safety programs required and provided by the museum.
